LFTM Washington County Fiber Tour Sneak Peek

The time has come again for one of our favorite events—the Washington County Fiber Tour! This locally based, free, self-guided fiber tour is open for anyone who wants to participate by visiting farms and Battenkill Fiber Mill in Washington County, NY. In our latest episode of Live from the Mill, Carole Foster from Foster Sheep Farm and Mary Jeanne Packer from Battenkill Fibers got together to talk about all the excitement surrounding this event and what we’ll have in the Battenkill Mill Store this weekend, April 29 & 30th, for the Fiber Tour. Get more information on the tour website here or read our past post about this event.

Re-watch last night’s episode of Live from the Mill today on YouTube:

During the Washington County Fiber Tour, find Mary Jeanne and our Battenkill Fibers team right here at Battenkill Fibers. Carole will be at Eagle Eye Farm (number 11 on the tour map), as the leader of the 4H Sheep & Kids Club. Her yarn will be on display alongside many other locally made goods. Visitors can also expect to find shearing, skirting, spinning and carding demos, and can learn how to make your own homemade peg looms for weaving (demonstrated by Club members).

In this episode, Carole and Mary Jeanne shared some great pattern recommendations! Click through to check them out:
